This could be anything from new windows to updated HVAC units, and will definitely earn their money back in the sale. If your house has fairly updated features like this, having a professional come out and clean them up and provide a little bit of maintenance can leave these features looking good as new and help add that extra “oomph” that you need to get people excited.

Add Some Life

While empty homes can really help people look at all of the features that the bare bones of a home have to offer, this can actually make selling the home more difficult. When you add enough furniture and styling to a space to at least make it look lived in, people are more likely to remember the space and see the value that the home really has. It may sound interesting that that is the case, but when you think about it, being able to see what the house looks like while it’s full gives people an opportunity to see what their house could look like as they move in. When you’re putting your house on the market, it’s hard to tell yourself that it’s worth it to make the investments and updates that you see throughout the house. The thing to consider in this case is that every update that you make is one that will easily provide you a return on investment. From updating your kitchen appliances to having your carpet entirely replaced, you will see that these changes provide an updated and fresh look to your home, and it’s one that most buyers are hoping to find when they go and look at new homes. If the project that you’re considering is going to be a bigger investment and isn’t likely to give you any return on investment than it might be worth considering. However, do recognize that there are some purchases and updates that are going to have to be made that will be a little more out of pocket than you might have realized.
